Riviera has announced two European Premieres among its on-water showcase of three motor yachts at this year’s 40th Anniversary Cannes Yachting Festival. The five-day Festival opens on 12 September.
International Sales Director Chris McCafferty said the company is proud to showcase the new Riviera 68 Sports Motor Yacht, fresh from its World Premiere at the Sydney International Boat Show at the beginning of August.
The company will also host the European premiere of the elegant 4800 Sport Yacht.
The stunning Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht will also be on display.
Riviera Sports Motor Yacht – European Premiere
The Riviera 68 Sports Motor Yacht will be the centrepiece of the company’s display.
The new-concept Sports Motor Yacht has been designed to offer the exhilaration of sports performance and a sporting cockpit with the luxurious appointments and comforts of a traditional motor yacht. The collection includes two models, the 68 and a 72.
The foredeck on the Sports Motor Yacht can include a large tender and 550kg hydraulic davit. When the tender is launched, this area quickly transforms to a fabulous eight-seater sunken entertainment centre that can be sheltered with a fold-away bimini.
The cockpit of the 68 Sports Motor Yacht offers everything a sports fisher or water sports enthusiast could hope for as well as plenty of space for relaxing and entertaining. The elevated alfresco mezzanine forward of the cockpit includes a large dining area and is connected with the central U-shape gourmet galley through a stainless steel framed door and large awning window. When the door and window are opened, this area is transformed to one large lifestyle space, positioning the chef at the heart of a social environment.
A port side door on the mezzanine leads down to a day head, shower and utility room or optional crew cabin with direct access to the engine room.
Stepping inside past the fully-equipped U-shape galley, the saloon features a plush lounge to port and a dining area that can seat up to eight people to starboard. A large TV forward of the galley rises at the touch of a button and can be comfortably viewed from both lounge and dining areas.
An internal timber staircase provides direct access to the flybridge, a space in which skipper and guests can enjoy extended passages or relaxing at anchor.
The state-of-the-art helm station features comprehensive engine and thruster controls, including the Twin Disc electronic joystick system (EJS), and up to four 22-inch navigation screens. Fully adjustable helm seating comprises a plush central Norsap helm seat and port side companion seat.
Guests can relax on lounges across the entire starboard side facing the helm, skipper and an entertainment unit.
A special feature of this space is a fold-out double bed secreted under the aft lounge, offering additional accommodation.
A stainless steel framed glass door and awning window connect the flybridge with a rear deck and alfresco dining area.
The accommodation deck offers two stateroom options: the four-cabin Classic or the three-cabin Grand Presidential design with full-beam master stateroom.
The Classic accommodation layout offers a midships master stateroom with en suite bathroom along the starboard side while the Grand Presidential design includes a full beam master stateroom with en suite bathroom in the starboard fore quarter.
A cabin on the port side forward of the master stateroom features twin single beds. The Classic layout includes an additional guest cabin on the starboard side with two full-size pullman-style beds.
The VIP guest stateroom forward includes a walk-around queen-size bed and a private en suite.
The Sports Motor Yacht features an array of innovation and technology that includes touch-screen navigation systems, multiple joystick controls for low speed manoeuvring, next generation CZone digital switching which can interface with an iPad for mobile systems control and monitoring, full spectrum feature lighting and optional security cameras throughout the motor yacht.
The spacious engine room includes acoustic and thermal insulation, full height head room and eye-height engine systems monitors and remote controls.
Power for this spectacular motor yacht comes from twin MAN V12 1550 turbo diesel engines, delivering 1,550 hp (1,140 kW) each through Twin Disc remote-mounted Quickshift gearboxes that integrate with the Express Joystick System. V-drives take power to Aquamet 22 Sea Torque oil-filled shafts and Veem five-axis CNC-cut propellers utilising Interceptor technology.
Stylish Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht – European Premiere
Riviera’s Sport Yacht hallmarks are embedded deeply in the DNA of the 4800: sleek styling, luxurious single-level living and entertaining layout and superb sea-keeping capabilities.
“From the cockpit, with its generous seating on two lounges, full wet bar and double barbecue to an entertainment zone on the forward deck with its large sun pad with folding back rest, this is a motor yacht designed for entertaining,” said Mr McCafferty.
“Natural light fills the interior living space with its aft galley and dinette opposite. An electric saloon sunroof slides open for additional light and fresh air, or an amazing view of the stars at night.”
The 4800’s accommodation layout gives owners a large atrium lower lounge that can comfortably seat up to five adults. The luxurious master stateroom forward features large hull windows for natural lighting, a queen-sized walk-around bed and a contemporary styled en suite. The guest cabin amidships features three adult-sized single beds. There’s the option of the two port side beds sliding together to create a double. A second bathroom is immediately forward of the midships cabin.
Storage in all cabins includes cedar-lined hanging lockers, drawers and under-bed storage.
Base power for the 4800 is the Volvo Penta D8-IPS700 propulsion system with twin D8 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (405kW/550hp each). A D8-IPS800 system featuring twin D8 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (441kW/600hp each) is optional. The systems are backed by Volvo Penta’s five-year warranty.
Luxurious Riviera 5400 Sport Yacht
The 5400 Sport Yacht has impressed owners and boat show visitors around the world since her launch early last year.
“The three-stateroom, two-bathroom 5400 model is an evolution of the luxury single-level living design for which Riviera’s Sport Yacht series is highly awarded,” said Mr McCafferty.
“The forward deck features a cushioned and upholstered sun lounge and, in the cockpit, a sunroof slides open at the touch of a button so you can also enjoy the sunshine out of the wind. This is a true entertainer’s cockpit, flowing through to the aft gourmet galley and spacious salon through a large sliding glass door and awning window that opens out and places the chef in the centre of the social environment.
The sports-inspired centreline helm console provides excellent visibility and ergonomics so that all critical navigation electronics, comprehensive engine instrumentation and vessel controls are within easy reach.
“The accommodation deck of the 5400 Sport Yacht features a luxurious midships full-beam master stateroom with en suite, the option for either a port side guest stateroom or an accommodation atrium lounge and a spacious VIP guest stateroom forward.”
Base power for the 5400 is the Volvo Penta D11-IPS800 propulsion system with twin D11 turbo diesel engines and IPS20 pod-drives (460kW/626hp each). Owners have the option of the D11-IPS950 system featuring twin D11 engines and IPS20 pod-drives (533kW/725hp each). The systems are backed by Volvo Penta’s five-year warranty.
