The premiere of four brilliant new models were the highlight of an exceptional display by Riviera at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

American boating enthusiasts were able to inspect the very latest expression of the flagship 72 Sports Motor Yacht, which now offers greater range and speed, enhanced guest and crew accommodation together with new, innovative engineering and technology advances that have heightened the yacht’s voyaging capabilities and owner enjoyment.

Also, to premiere at the show were the 72’s sisterships – the outstanding 64 and 50 Sports Motor Yacht, both supremely crafted and luxuriously appointed models that share the same signature sporting looks, sports performance and versatile sporting cockpit.

From the classic Belize collection, comes the next generation of the popular Belize 54 Daybridge, offering an impressive new flybridge and hardtop design, greater speed and enhanced owner comforts that will take this popular yacht to a new level.

Joining the premiere model line-up in this premium showcase were the grand and exhilarating Riviera’s 6000 Sport Yacht, sporty and adventurous 395 SUV and classic Belize 66 Daybridge.

Riviera Australia owner Rodney Longhurst and CEO Wes Moxey have driven significant advances in design, performance, technology and luxury over the past eight years and each of these outstanding new yachts reflect Riviera today, as the company marks 40 years of boatbuilding evolution.

A wealth of enhancements have been introduced to the 72 Sports Motor Yacht

“Individually these magnificent motor yachts have inspired owners to join the growing Riviera family in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, and together they showcase the Riviera essence of ultra-luxury, superior technology and supreme sea-keeping qualities,” Mr Longhurst said.

“We were proud and humble to have been able to premiere four new models at Fort Lauderdale, especially in these current times. Our inspirational design team are equally as passionate and committed to evolution as Wes and I, and we are sure that everyone who visited our showcase at Fort Lauderdale were extremely impressed with the very latest from Riviera.”

Superior offshore performance, water sports versatility and long-range voyaging capabilities are integral to the Sports Motor Yacht collection’s unique design as are luxury lifestyle appointments which include the brilliant alfresco deck, foredeck entertainment zone and flybridge ‘sky lounge’ with separate deck.

The 72 and its 68-foot sistership have been exceptionally popular and an ever-growing number of yachts now cruising the waters of the United States, Mediterranean, south east Asia, Caribbean, New Zealand and, of course, Australia.

Externally, the next generation 72 SMY features the distinctive sweeping hull window design that bathes the accommodation deck with superb vistas, natural light and fresh sea air. The flybridge aft rail now mirrors the signature finish of the hard top giving an even sleeker appearance to the yacht.

Enhancements to the cockpit offer greater storage options, service access and larger insulated lockers. When it comes time to relax or entertain, the attractive new bar design on the alfresco deck with integrated refrigeration and seating will be appreciated by all.

Internally, guest accommodation has been refined with a new larger third stateroom design featuring cross-over single berths. The utility room or crew cabin now offer new options for additional accommodation and storage. Throughout the 72 SMY’s interior, refinements to finishes have created an even greater sense of luxury.

Riviera engineers have taken this flagship to another level with a new engine room layout and introduced new equipment and smart technology such as digital fuel and water tank gauges mounted externally at the filler points that are integrated into the onboard digital switching and monitoring system.

To allow owners to stay aboard longer, voyage further and cruise at faster speeds, water and fuel capacities have been increased in the 72 SMY. Power has also been upgraded to twin 2000hp (1,471 kW) shaft drive MAN V12 diesels – perfect partners for the soft-riding and efficient hull design from world-leading superyacht architect Frank Mulder.

Against any measure the 72 SMY’s layout offers superior onboard living. The beam of 6 metres (19’8”) is carried well aft – which aids stability and allows an expansive cockpit, alfresco and saloon deck and up to four staterooms with four bathrooms on the accommodation deck. There is also a utility room or optional crew cabin.

Riviera 64 Sports Motor Yacht – Premiere

Riviera has now taken the essential design elements of the 72 and 68 Sports Motor Yacht and scaled these for those wanting the same sporting performance, blue water capability and absolute luxury in a new 64-foot model.

The new 64 Sports Motor Yacht offers an air-conditioned alfresco deck – just perfect for dining and relaxing that flows to the aft gourmet galley. In the saloon, an internal staircase leads to the four-sided enclosed flybridge with its own rear deck, whilst a side door from the saloon leads to deep and wide walk-around side decks. There is an owner’s choice of three or four staterooms including full beam master suite and either a utility room or crew cabin. The foredeck cradles a 3.6-metre (11’8”) tender before converting into a plush entertainment zone.

Nautical miles simply disappear as you harness the power of the twin shaft drive MAN diesels available with a choice of V8-1300hp (956kW) or V12-1550hp (1140kW). The hull transitions onto the plane in seconds and accelerates rapidly to well over 34 knots with the MAN V12’s.

The accommodation deck offers and a full-beam master suite as the centrepiece of a three-stateroom, twin-bathroom design – all in a yacht measuring 15.4 metres (50’7”) in length.

The 50 SMY is available with a choice of two highly efficient power and drive options both with joystick controls – twin diesel Volvo Penta IPS950 – 725hp (533kW) or twin diesel shaft-drive MAN i6-800 – 800hp (588kW). Both propulsion packages deliver a smooth, quiet and efficient ride.
