“Sitting at the wheel, the 505 SUV propels me toward the misty skyline at Surfers Paradise. It isn’t until some cardinal marks fly past that I realise we are doing 29 knots, such is the quiet and smooth ride afforded. Acres of window space also add to the effortless feel, inducing me to throw the 505 into a tight turn after quickly glancing aft to check for other vessels. Predictable handling such as gently heeling into turns is a Riviera trait, as is the solid feel of the hull.”
