COOMERA, QUEENSLAND – The 640-strong team at Riviera has celebrated a year of accomplishments with an Hawaiian-themed Christmas party at the company’s Coomera headquarters.
The Riviera Aftermarket facility was specially decorated for the event, with a number of food trucks offering delicious dishes including wood-fired pizzas, peri peri chicken burgers, and Asian cuisine.
Owner Rodney Longhurst thanked the entire team for their incredible effort and commitment in building the finest motor yachts that are constantly celebrated internationally.
“We are on magazine covers and we are winning awards all around the world,” he told them. “Our boat show displays are well attended and our expanding worldwide dealer network is busy. That is because of your dedication. Your culture and actions allow excellence to grow.”
CEO Wes Moxey told staff the continued focus on quality enhancements had resulted in strong forward orders.
“Our position internationally is the best in more than 10 years,” he said.
He said Riviera has built more than 100 motor yachts in 2018 and has conducted four World Premieres at international boat shows throughout the year – the 72 and 39 Sports Motor Yachts, the 395 SUV and, at Fort Lauderdale in October, the Belize 66 Sedan.
He said he was proud of the emphasis on family throughout the company.
“We have fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, even some entire families involved with our company,” he said.
He praised every member of the Riviera Team for their passion for excellence.
Every day each and every one of you arrive here to work with the desire to create yachts of extraordinary quality,” he said. “From design to lamination, to engineering, electrical, timber and final fit out, you all share a deep sense of pride and satisfaction. Every day you craft not only the best motor yachts in Australia, but yachts that are widely recognised as among the best in the world. For this our loyal yacht owners and Rodney and I sincerely thank you”.
Training Manager Adam Houlahan told the team that Riviera was “extremely well-represented” at the recent TAFE Apprentice of the Year awards held in Surfers Paradise.
“Eleven of our apprentices were nominated for awards,” he said. “Four went on to win their categories.”
The party concluded with a fun prize-giving, including Best Hawaiian Outfit, many gifts and the ultimate prize for up to 10 people to enjoy a fully catered day cruise on board a Riviera with family and friends.
