Australia’s luxury motor yacht builder, Riviera will invite New Zealand boating enthusiasts to step aboard for the first time, three outstanding new models at the Auckland On Water Boat Show from October 3-6.
To be held on Viaduct Harbour in the heart of the City of Sails, the boat show will host the New Zealand premieres of the outstanding 5400 Platinum Edition Sport Yacht, 395 SUV and 54 Enclosed Flybridge as part of an impressive seven-boat, red carpet showcase held in partnership with R Marine Flagship.
Having won expert acclaim when it was launched, the 5400 Sport Yacht is now being offered as part of Riviera’s exclusive Platinum Edition Sport Yachts with additional features that accentuate the world-class style, sophistication and elegance created by the highly credentialed Riviera design team.
The supremely stylish 54 Enclosed Flybridge continues the proud 39-year heritage of the renowned Riviera flybridge design and features the distinguishing indoor/outdoor lifestyle features, practicality of design and legendary offshore capabilities the luxury boat builder is internationally famous for.
The sporty and adventurous 395 SUV is Riviera’s first under 40-foot SUV model, with flowing one-level living, open cockpit and joystick handling complemented by an accommodation deck that reinforces Riviera’s unique design sense and flair.
The comprehensive display will also showcase Riviera’s 445 SUV and 545 SUV, 4800 Sport Yacht and 6000 Sport Yacht, with the latter two now offered as Platinum Edition Sport Yachts.
Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst said the Auckland On Water Boat Show will showcase the sophistication, calibre and innovation that has made its luxury motor yachts so very popular among New Zealand boating enthusiasts.

The 5400 Sport Yacht raised the bar when launched as an exciting single-level entertainer with intelligent and progressive design. Now this yacht has been refined in every respect as part of the new Platinum Edition.
The yacht is a luxury sports package with everything needed for on-water relaxation, starting with the superbly equipped cockpit with two large lounges that are protected under the rear awning that form the al fresco dinning spot and socialising hub. The 5400 features the Platinum-finish wet-bar to port in the cockpit, including refrigerator, icemaker, sink and two-plate electric barbecue.
The galley features new waterfall-style Corian benchtops with squared edges, complemented by twin bar stools to form a casual servery. Back-to-back lounges fill the area to port, leading forward to the central helm station.
The skipper will feel more like a pilot in this commanding space, with its centreline helm seat and a dashboard rendered in Platinum grey Alcantara. Performance is equally impressive as Volvo IPS 950 (533kW/725hp) diesels spirit the 5400 with impressive acceleration and top speed.
Owners receive a majestic full-beam stateroom, abounding with exceptional headroom and airiness surrounding a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. The VIP stateroom fills the forepeak, while there is a choice between a lower lounge or twin Pullman berth cabin.
395 SUV – New Zealand Premiere

Riviera’s first under-40-foot model in nearly a decade, the sporty and adventurous 395 SUV delivers exceptional boating options, that is easy-to-handle, offers single-level entertaining that is in the DNA of its popular SUV collection with the go-anywhere blue water attributes of the classic blue-water flybridge collection.
Two generous staterooms and a large bathroom are on the accommodation deck, while a spacious saloon and open cockpit are perfectly designed for relaxing and entertaining or a raft of water sports.
A barbecue unit with a lid and LED lighting is set across the transom, facing forward and accessed from the swim platform so the chef is at the heart of the conversation and entertainment. The unit also includes a sink and food preparation space.
The raised bulwarks on the side decks of the 395 are up to 100mm in height from the deck and provide an additional level of confidence when moving forward or aft along the side decks.
Power for the 395 SUV comes from twin Volvo D6 IPS 600 turbo diesel engines providing 324kw/440hp with IPS 10 drive units.
In the saloon, a lower helm and companion seat are located on the port side, with a raised lounge opposite providing 360 degree views for guests and allowing the skipper, mate and crew to all interact while under way.
An aft galley on the starboard side includes an electric cooktop, sink and food preparation benchtop, under-bench convection microwave and deep drawer fridge, while the raised dining area, with L-shape seating, is on the port side opposite the galley offering sweeping views through the wrap-around windows, windscreen and aft through the glass bulkhead door and awning window.
The lower deck provides sleeping accommodation in totally comfort for five adults in two cabins; a forward master stateroom with queen-size walk-around double bed and a midships cabin with three single berths, two of which slide together to form a double.

The 54 Enclosed Flybridge reflects the aspirations of Riviera owners to extend their cruising time aboard in complete luxury.
Replacing Riviera’s 52 Enclosed Flybridge model, the 54 continues the proud heritage of the renowned Riviera flybridge design over the past four decades, which has seen the launching of more than 3,500 flybridge yachts.
Taking centre stage is a presidential-style full-beam master suite with an enormous amount of space and storage, king-sized bed, large hanging wardrobe and finely appointed en-suite bathroom forward on the port side.
The 54’s handsome saloon deck is topped by a solid, three-sided flybridge haven that shields occupants from the elements. Blended into the dash is an array of advanced technologies, including the Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit navigation system and Riviera’s intuitive C-Zone digital switching.
With the bridge safely accessed by an internal staircase, guests can relax on an L-shaped lounge that wraps around a table, serviced by a wet bar with solid surface bench top, refrigerator, drink-holders, sink with hot and cold tapware and storage.
The main deck features a rear bulkhead that includes a sliding door and awning window comprising tinted, tempered glass framed in polished stainless steel, while a highly functional U-shaped galley located aft in the saloon, conveniently serves the saloon forward dining and lounge and the rear-facing cockpit dinette.
Stepping below to the accommodation deck, the 54 is impressively conceived and wonderfully luxurious. Along with the full-beam master suite, there is an elegantly appointed forward VIP stateroom and a starboard twin Pullman-berth cabin, while the guest bathroom with its designer appointments offers two-way entry enabling it to serve as the day head.
Fuel capacity totals (3500 litres/925 US gal) and the central fuel tank is located amidships to ensure a perfectly balanced hull, while Volvo Penta’s well-founded D11-IPS 950 system with twin D11 turbo diesel engines (533kW/725hp) and IPS 20 pod-drives deliver impressive fuel economy, high performance and quiet operation, along with easy joystick docking and impeccable driving manners.
