The South Australian Riviera Family celebrates at Adelaide On-Water Boat Show.

The weather gods were certainly smiling upon the Riviera Family at the Adelaide On Water Boat Show – with skies clearing and winds abating as guests gathered for a fun-filled evening to celebrate the Riviera luxury life.

The fully catered Riviera Overnighter event hosted by R Marine South Australia enjoyed fantastic support from Riviera owners and their invited guests, with over 130 people in attendance for an evening featuring a delicious seafood barbecue buffet, premium refreshments, first-class entertainment and, of course, the highly valued Riviera Family camaraderie.

Thirty Riviera owners cruised into Adelaide for the event, staged by R Marine South Australia.

“The most impressive sight at the show, without doubt, were the 30 privately owned Riviera luxury motor yachts spanning all current collections in their specially reserved VIP berths,” said R Marine South Australia dealer principal Paul Harrop.

“It was certainly a very impressive show of strength from our very active South Australian Riviera Family.

“R Marine South Australia also showcased four Riviera models for general inspection but the biggest impression made over the weekend was the sight and sounds of the Riviera Family catching up and really enjoying their yachts … truly living the Riviera dream.

“Many people stopped on the marina and our owners took the time to speak with them about how their Rivieras continually enrich and enhance their lives.”

The Riviera presence made for an amazing sight on the water, while at night the band played from the cockpit of a Riviera 63 Enclosed Flybridge.

As the evening marina party switched into gear, guests also enjoyed refreshments served from a bar in the cockpit of a Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht, while the band played from the cockpit of a Riviera 63 Enclosed Flybridge.

Don Wilkey was attending his first Riviera Family event and was very impressed with the effort from the R Marine South Australia team.

“It was fantastic,” said Don, who has owned the Riviera 3600 Sport Yacht Rivive with his wife Cheryl for just on 12 months.

“The hospitality, the friendliness – it was really something else.

“We are relatively new to offshore boating and speaking with some of the others at the Overnighter has inspired us to start planning a trip across the (Spencer) Gulf.”

Glenda Hausler has been to many Riviera Family events since she and husband Rick bought their 34 Open Flybridge, Group Therapy, about 10 years ago.

She said the 2016 Riviera Overnighter was ‘awesome … as always’.

“The team R Marine South Australia is terrific – nothing is ever too much trouble for them,” she said. “I love the way everyone mixes at the Riviera functions, and the size of your yacht is not important, having fun is.

Catching up with friends and making new friends – it’s part of the Riviera Family fun.

“Everyone really does make you feel like you are part of a special family.”

Paul said the Riviera Family celebrations lasted well into the night.

“We were privileged to have Riviera CEO Wes Moxey and dealer relationship manager Peter Welch here from the Gold Coast to share the fun with us,” he said.
