SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Brightly-lit motor yachts gleamed, four powerful singers serenaded and the red carpet was abuzz as more than 400 of the Riviera family gathered to celebrate during a special gala function at the Sydney International Boat Show.
The event on the Saturday evening of the five-day show drew Riviera and Belize aficionados from around Australia and the world for an evening of fun, friendship and great food and fine wines.
Stewart Nicholas had a special reason to celebrate in the joyful environment.
“We signed a contract on our new Riviera 57 Enclosed Flybridge just as the party began to warm up,” said Stewart. “We came to the show because my wife, Lyn, said it was time for us to upgrade to a new motor yacht. The timing was perfect.
“We are new to the Riviera family and it was a fabulous introduction. We enjoyed meeting and talking with many like-minded people.”
Bob Love has attended many functions in his professional life.
“This was one of the very best,” he said. “The singers performing on the boats provided a fantastic showcase. And the staff were very well trained and helpful throughout the evening.
“Sydney Harbour provided a superb backdrop and matched the sophistication of the Riviera motor yacht display.”
James and Naomi Lucas came from South Australia.
“As usual, it was a terrific event,” said James.
Naomi said: “It was my first visit to the Sydney show. We are certainly coming back next year! It was so much fun.”
The entertainers began with a “battle of the voices” between the two male and two female singers. Then, as the evening progressed, they came together for a set of anthem songs, culminating in the Jennifer Warnes classic “The Time Of My Life” from the movie Dirty Dancing, perfectly encapsulating the high spirits of all the guests.
Gerard and Janelle Verge agreed the evening was a strong reinforcement why they love owning a Riviera.
“Why would we own any other boat,” said Gerard. “We love Riviera and part of that is the events they host.”
