The sporty Riviera 4000 Offshore motor yacht is one of our most popular models, with 244 built over a 10-year period from 1997.
With its distinctive flared bow, the Riviera 4000 Offshore was available in three model styles, a soft or hard top or a three sided enclosed layout.
Owners selected a model that exactly suited their motor yachting lifestyles. Some wanted large swim platforms for family entertaining, the sun worshippers selected a Mediterranean layout with a daybed in the cockpit while serious sports fishers selected the boat for its blue water credentials and added a tuna tower.
Whatever the choice, the Riviera 4000 Offshore was loaded with features, from her large open cockpit, designed for the serious sporting fisher or water sports enthusiast, to the helm deck, just two steps up and forward of the cockpit – perfect for entertaining.
Below deck, a fully-equipped galley on the port side and lounge dinette to starboard were an entertainer’s delight and just the space for relaxing after a day out on the water. A mirror-backed cocktail cabinet added that touch of class forward of the dinette.
The dinette lounge quickly converted to double and single beds for guests.
The forward stateroom offered the comfort of a walk-around queen double bed, port and starboard portholes for light and an overhead deck hatch for both light and air. The adjacent bathroom was equipped with toilet, vanity and a separate glass-panelled shower stall.
Powered by a pair of standard 350hp (261kW) turbo diesel engines, the Riviera 4000 Offshore was designed and equipped for rugged open oceans around the world and to this day she also makes a powerful impression in any bay or marina.
To this day, the Riviera 4000 Offshore draws admiration and affection from both former and current owners.
In recent Facebook posts about the motor yacht, Paul Ratcliff commented: “So comfortable and everything works so well! Great boat thanks Riviera”. John Robertson wrote: “2002 model – love the lines, the layout” and Greg Fenwick said of his 2004 model, “Love everything about it!”. Here are some of the photographs posted in response to this much-loved Riviera classic.
