Profile of a classic model Riviera – the 3000 Offshore

3000-hero

Our Classic Riviera 3000 Offshore pressed all the right buttons among motor yacht enthusiasts from the time the first model was launched in 1999. Sporty lines, spirited performance, a great entertainer deck and comfortable accommodation would see a total of 163 of these motor yachts built over two series in the following six years.

At the time of her launch, the 3000 Offshore was unmatched in her class for live-aboard style and comfort or entertainment potential.

Another strong benefit of this model was the easy maintenance provided by the diesel shaft drive power system.

From the swim platform through a central inward-opening transom door, the self-draining cockpit is generously proportioned and is the perfect entertaining area with a locker that can contain a portable stainless steel barbecue. There are dedicated lockers forward for lines, covers and accessories.

Stepping up to the entertaining and helm deck, there is a contoured lounge with a dinette table on the port side with a moulded GPR sink with hot and cold taps plus a tackle locker opposite. There is even room in the helm platform area for an auxiliary refrigerator.

A designer helm seat on the starboard side, forward of the sink, faces an ergonomically designed helm with a sporty steering wheel, full engine controls and instrumentation.

The Series I 3000 Offshore included a bimini that folded forward to cover the entire entertaining and helm deck. The Series II introduced a sporty raked GRP targa arch that holds the fabric deck cover.

To step down into the engine room of the Riviera 3000 Offshore, the entire helm platform lifts via an electrically actuated ram to give easy maintenance access to virtually all mechanical systems.

Slide the access door across and the comfort of the below-deck saloon and stateroom is revealed.

Immediately to starboard is a fully enclosed bathroom featuring a solid surface bench top, a vanity, sink with mixer tap and a Vucuflush toilet. The bright L-shaped saloon lounge and dinette is on the port side. The lounge can convert into two comfortable bunks.

The galley, including moulded sink, under-bench refrigerator, a microwave oven and ample cupboard space is immediately forward of the bathroom.

Riviera designers created a stylish stateroom featuring a walk-around island double bed with a large, custom-shaped mattress.

Power for the spirited Riviera 3000 Offshore was provided by twin Volvo Penta turbo diesel engines, providing 147kW/200hp.
