AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND – “What an outstanding venue for a party!”

Peter Baker was among 140 guests at the official opening of the new R Marine Flagship floating office in Auckland recently.

“It was a particularly proud moment for me as my Riviera 57 Enclosed Flybridge, Elated, arrived with The Lady Killers band on board,” said Peter. “They were sensational.”

Margaret Fenwick was also excited by the entertainment.

“The three girls were absolute show-stoppers,” she said. “Their performance was the highlight of the evening for us.”

The Lady Killers is one of New Zealand’s premier female vocal ensembles, performing music across a number of genres.

Margaret and husband Greg were awaiting the delivery of their new Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht.

“She is called Stravaigin,” said Margaret. “It is an old Scottish word meaning ‘wandering with no particular destination in mind’.”

The evening, held during the recent Auckland On Water Boat Show, began with guests exploring the new showroom and office, mingling and enjoying fine wines and delicious food.

R Marine Flagship’s Dean Horgan said the team had brought together seven gleaming new Riviera models for the event.

“The mood was fantastic with a stunning, calm Auckland evening enabling professional lighting to emphasise the beautiful motor yachts,” he said.

The R Marine team set up a number of food stalls including Japanese cuisine and an oyster shucking station along with sumptuous canapes made on-site by professional chefs.

The new office is a first for the Dealership and for Auckland – a fully floating, glass gated complex with a marina that accommodates 22 motor yachts. The marina pontoons and the forecourt of the office are all automatically ballasted.

Margaret Fenwick was impressed by the stability of the structure.

“Marina pontoons often move about a little, but this felt is if we were on land,” she said. “There is so much space at the new office.”

R Marine Flagship’s Dean Horgan designed the entire structure and was proud of the compliments and reaction from guests on the evening.

Peter Baker summed up the atmosphere of the guests throughout the evening.

“This is my first Riviera and I am delighted with my decision,” he said. “I met some wonderful people during the evening. These event reinforce that we are all part of the Riviera Family.”
