Our sensational new Belize 66 sedan has taken to the water in her first sea trial and performed “well beyond expectations” according to Riviera Motor Yacht Specialist and Belize project manager Doug Nelson.
Our team has spent the past weeks working diligently on external refinement, including the large and luxurious foredeck, multiple coatings of marine varnish to the teak brow around the hardtop and installation of the communications systems on the targa wings.
At the same time, internal fitout saw installation of the elegant timbers and plush fabrics that help to make the Belize 66 a world-class motor yacht.
She then moved from the construction bay for initial on-water tests. These included waterline measurement and confirmation of total weight.
“We were delighted that she exceeded our expectations,” said Doug Nelson. “The latest technologies employed in her build have resulted in a weight considerably lower than the original estimates while maintaining the full integrity of the hull and superstructure.”
The new Volvo Penta 1350 IPS drive system, the most powerful in Volvo Penta’s IPS range, performed perfectly throughout the sea trial.
The shining new motor yacht has now been shipped to Savannah, Georgia, in the United States from where she will undergo final detailing in preparation for her World Premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show opening on Wednesday, October 31.
