Riviera hosts Bentley Continental GT launch

Bentley Continental GT launch at Palazzo Versace

COOMERA, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA – When the team from the legendary Bentley car company planned the Australasian launch of their glamorous new Continental GT recently, Riviera was a perfect partner.

As Australia’s premium luxury motor yacht builder, we were delighted to host Bentley guests to an early evening cruise on board a sophisticated and luxurious Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht on the Gold Coast waterways.

Over seven evenings, about 100 guests were treated to a two-hour cruise on the Gold Coast Broadwater, departing from the marina at Palazzo Versace. Fine foods from Palazzo Versace were served and the guests enjoyed Pommery French champagne and Henschke Australian wines.

Part of this Bentley celebration was the opportunity for guests to test drive the new Bentley Continental GT on a return road trip to Byron Bay in northern New South Wales. The drive enabled guests to experience Bentley’s intelligent Dynamic Ride System that ensures a responsive ride and exceptional handling and refinement in all road conditions.

Sarah Simpson, Bentley Motors’ Regional Director of the UK and Asia Pacific, said: “Designed, engineered and handcrafted in Britain, the new Bentley Continental GT combines spirited performance with hand-crafted luxury and cutting edge technology to create the finest Grand Tourer ever produced.”

Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst said: “The Bentley Continental GT and Riviera motor yachts share a pedigree of the highest standards of build quality, the very latest in technology and the ultimate in luxurious comforts, from quality leather seating, impeccable timberwork and the highest quality fittings.”

The heart of the new Bentley Continental GT is a new, enhanced version of the company’s renowned 6-litre twin-turbocharged W12 TSI engine, mated for the first time to a dual-clutch eight-speed transmission for faster more efficient gear changes.

The Bentley Continental GT and the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht share a total commitment to driver-focussed control. While the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht is equipped with Volvo Penta’s innovative Glass Cockpit navigation system and inboard propulsion system (IPS) that offers centralised control of equipment, engines and alarms, the new Bentley offers a Rotating Display featuring an impressive 12.3″ touch-screen display.
